Message from Principal Carriere
Dear Green Acres Families and Scholars,
The 2025-2026 school year is approaching and we are excited! On behalf of the Green Acres staff, we hope that your summer has been restful and rejuvenating, with time spent with loved ones and reading! As we prepare for another school year filled with the joy of learning within our caring community, I am thrilled to welcome both our returning families and those who are new to our vibrant school community.
For those who are new to our beloved school, welcome! Green Acres is a truly special place. We are a very small and caring community and our dedicated and experienced staff are committed to making Green Acres the best place to be! The educational team at Green Acres holds our students to high expectations and nurtures each and every student’s individual development and needs. Our office, custodial, and yard staff bring kindness and warmth to our school everyday and make our environment positive and welcoming for students and families. And finally, the students at Green Acres strive to be the best students they can be through practicing a growth mindset and demonstrating regular growth as they develop their personal, academic, and social skills.
At Green Acres, we believe that strong relationships between school and home are key to student success. Our dedicated team of teachers and staff is eager to partner with you to ensure that every child feels safe, valued and inspired to reach their fullest potential. Please consider getting involved in your child’s school experience this year in any way you can. Together we are better!
There are many ways to become involved at Green Acres. Here are some examples:
Participate in school events: you will be invited to school on a variety of occasions for conferences, back to school night, open house, assemblies, Fall Festival, Family Arts Night, Pages and PJs, and more! The more you can be a part of our community, the stronger our community becomes and the more supported students feel - which leads to our collective success and growth for our students!
Become a volunteer: there will be opportunities to go on field trips, help in classrooms, and at school events. We need your support and students benefit from our village!
Become a member of our Home and School Club (HSC): The Home and School Club is a parent/caregiver group that creates and supports all of the additional activities and things we want for our scholars. With your support, they make wonderful things happen!
Become a member of the School Site Council (SSC): This group of parents and teachers makes decisions and gives valuable input regarding our school budget and how we support the academic success of our students.
Become a member of our English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC): The ELAC advises our site regarding creating the best possible opportunities for our English Learners. We need parent/caregiver voices in order to accomplish our goals!
When we work together to support our students, we can accomplish so much more and truly see our students rise to their highest potential. Our goal at Green Acres is to create a climate of caring and respect, where everyone feels seen and understood. We can do this best when we partner with families. Throughout the year, we’ll be communicating with you through newsletters, website updates, and our caregiver communication app, Parent Square. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns or ideas. Your voice matters and we value your partnership.
Let’s make this a fantastic year together! On behalf of the entire staff, thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. We are excited to begin this journey and can’t wait to see the incredible things our students will accomplish.
