About Our School
Welcome to Our School!
Dear Families,
We are so happy to welcome you to our amazing school! Green Acres Elementary School has been recognized by the state of California as a Gold Ribbon Award School based on our literacy program. At our school, we care about every student and believe in helping the whole child grow — academically, socially, and emotionally. Our school uses MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports), including RTI (Response to Intervention) and PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) to make sure every student gets the help they need to succeed and feel safe, respected, and valued.
Technology is a big part of learning here! Every student has a 1:1 Chromebook to support their learning in and out of the classroom. Our teachers use Promethean Boards for interactive lessons, and we use i-Ready to help each student grow in reading and math at their own pace.
We believe in educating the whole child with a rich and well-rounded program. Students enjoy weekly classes in Art, Music, PE, and Garden Life Lab, where they learn about healthy living and nature. Our Library is a special place where kids can explore books, learn research skills, and develop a lifelong love of reading.
Our school is proud to have a team of experienced, kind, caring, and dedicated staff who work together to create a warm and welcoming environment. We value our diverse and collaborative community, where strong personal relationships help everyone feel connected and supported.
We also focus on a growth mindset, teaching children that challenges help us grow. Social-emotional learning and positive character traits like kindness, courage, and responsibility are part of daily life at school. Our students are leaders too — they have a voice through Student Council and other opportunities to share ideas and make our school better.
To support mental health, we have a full-time mental health clinician who works with students individually, in small groups, and in classrooms. We care deeply about every child’s emotional well-being and make sure help is always available when needed.
We are proud of our school and excited to learn and grow together this year!
Sincerely,
Cari Carriere, Principal
